Work Related Pain Disorders - The Ultimate Prevention & Treatment Program

Robyn Midgley Presents

Work Related Pain Disorders – The Ultimate

Prevention & Treatment Program

Robyn Midgley is a Specialist Hand & Upper Extremity Therapist. A special interest is work-related pain and the prevention and treatment of acute and chronic syndromes such as Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, Tennis Elbow and Tendonitis. These syndromes can be career threatening, risking unemployment and loss of earnings. In 2003, Robyn  developed a unique assessment tool & rehabilitation program which has been published in the British & American Journals of Therapy. Her approach has been used to successfully return people to work and prevent a relapse of their condition.

Many people are now working from home and are unaware of the risk of injury as a result of poor workstation ergonomics, a sedentary lifestyle and extended hours on a computer. Simple and effective intervention can prevent the need for more invasive treatment  such as the need for steroids or surgery. It can also enhance career longevity and ensure optimum health and wellness.

The success of Robyn Midgley’s program is due to her holistic approach and her special interest in health and wellness.

For this reason Robyn has collaborated with Taz Falconer, Movement Specialist, to ensure that the program provides physical and psychological benefits.

A MESSAGE FROM

ROBYN MIDGLEY

Hi There

Many people have moved from a structured and ergonomically sound workstation to a make-shift home office as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. This change in ergonomics has placed many people at risk of developing both clearly defined syndromes such as Carpal Tunnel Syndrome or Type I Work Related Upper Limb Disorders as well as non-clearly defined syndromes, or what we call Type II Work Related Upper

Limb Disorders. Both Type I & Type II Upper Limb disorders can easily be prevented and treated, but left untreated, can cause chronic syndromes to develop.

Awareness if the first step towards preventing these disorders from becoming career threatening.

People also fear that if they disclose their symptoms to their employer, they are at risk of losing their job so they inevitably suffer in silence. Ongoing pain will ultimately increase recovery time and decrease productivity. Once this vicious cycle begins, it can lead to a situation where even brushing your teeth becomes too painful.

I have treated hundreds of patients who have been at risk of losing their job as a result of work elated pain, but ho have applied the simple techniques and program to their daily lives and managed to salvage their careers and become pain free.

I am privileged and honoured to be hosting this webinar with Taz Falconer. Taz is highly respected as a movement specialist. Taz and I share a mutual passion for exercise and movement to enhance human potential and prevent pain. We can all be inspired by Taz’ knowledge of anatomy, & movement, and how movement influences strength and flexibility. We are grateful to have Taz share as much as she can with us on the webinar, in a practical manner so that we can begin to start changing the way that we think about our bodies and how movement, flexibility and strength are key to preventing injury and discomfort.

I encourage you to attend this event and look forward to sharing this experience with you.

See you online,

Robyn Midgley
